The Magic Seed — plant ideas into your dream Dojo
A Recap on MetaDojo’s May Community Event
Indisputably, we saw more creativity than ever before during our May 2022 event #MagicSeed! Feedback and photo submission from the community was overwhelming, we wished we could list them all here!
6 sample Dojos to give you a taste of what’s on offer
Club Neon: You’re going out on a nameless weeknight. You wind your way through uneven streets that are dimly lit by glowing machines or humming streetlights, and you can hear your destination before you see it. Hello and welcome to Club Neon! Of course, exceptional club buildings have emerged as a result of these conditions. The obvious example is this building, whose architecture occupies the popular imagination almost as much as the music played inside; the interplay between the rigidity of its interior/exterior threshold (the queue, the infamous door policy) and the contrasting fluidity of the spaces inside (the club has no dead ends) is particularly intriguing.
A-Framed Village: It provides plenty of conversation topics for each visitor, beginning with the inspirational “Viking village” and communal space on each of the four main structures and ending with the so-called “contemporary vibe” and “cosy cave feel” that you will undoubtedly experience here.
Stacked Gallery: A 3-story structure with a balance of positive and negative spaces, this Dojo is our Art Director’s favourite out of the Contemporary Collection. The interior is a combination of smooth white gallery walls and a solid central core highlighted by unpainted glass. This could be a significant community-focused 3D building that has yet to be created!
Arch of Illumination: This is an intriguing construction. An arch style Quonset huts, also popularly known as “elevated” Quonset huts, is based on Gothic style but with a modern twist where you will never feel claustrophobic! Be amazed by our skybox as well, and bring your friends and family to this inviting playground.
Rainbow Tower: A playful look into this bold design. Inspired by a large wooden stacking disc/toy where you can stack and build with these colourful discs and LEGO House in Denmark, Rainbow Tower takes you back to your childhood memories. This structure is built in stages to create accessible spaces, elevated terraces, slides instead of stairways, and to allow “colourful” daylight into the interior.
The Fold: As the name suggests, this is an excellent example of fold architecture. Folded structures can achieve greater spans and rigidity while also having a lower net weight than other types of structures. Did you think the inside of this building was small? Well, you will be surprised.
What is #MagicSeed?
While you relax your soul in the beautifully designed skybox while touring around the sensationally-built Dojos, you encounter a golden #MagicSeed! Following simple instructions, you see it turn into a stunning tree right in front of your eyes. Then, you realise you can interact with it by uploading your own images as the tree leaves!
This amazing experience is just the beginning of what of the interaction features the MetaDojo team is bringing to our virtual space.
Although the Gleam lucky draw has ended, the fun goes on! You are still able to view these amazing designs here.
